Our #6filmchallenge theme for July & August focused on the technique of using Double Exposures in our films! This Creative technique is one we challenged our members to not just "use", but to use with intentionality with an end goal to enhance their film's visual narrative, draw out emotion, and guide viewers with purpose to see certain aspects of their story. We especially loved how many of our entries use elements of their environment as a layer in their Double Exposure.

Typically, we see our members trying out the #6filmchallenge techniques in their own personal films but this round found many experimenting with Double Exposures in the editing of their client films. We loved each entries creativity and are excited to showcase our favorites below.

Have you experimented with using Double Exposures in your own films? Perhaps you've done it with your photography but not considered it when editing your films? Right now at FilmingLife® Academy we have a few fantastic tutorials on using Double Exposures in both your personal and client films! We can't say enough about how much we really this technique and it's ability to enable you to craft a film that is both visually stunning and emotionally heartfelt at the same time.

What is the #6filmchallenge?

We loved the idea of inspiring our members to go out and create work around a theme every two months throughout the year, so we divided the year into 6 unique themes.

Our hope is that members will be inspired to create unique, personal films that are their own interpretations of each theme. So far, we haven’t been disappointed!

These are the #6filmchallenge themes for 2020:
