SHOWCASE: "Transitions" | FilmingLife® ArtHouse
"The key to making good movies is to pay attention to the transition between scenes."
- Steven Soderbergh
The July/August ArtHouse Film Project theme was led by Kylie Purtell and was centered around the theme TRANSITIONS.
Kylie challenged our members to explore some new techniques that they’d never tried before and to have fun with the theme. Being Summer in the US proved to be the perfect inspiration for this film for many of our filmmakers and it shows in the fun, creative films they’ve created.
The theme was broken down into two levels:
Level One: Create a film using transition effects in your editing software, that you've never used before.
Level Two: Create a film using in-camera transitions or more creative post-production transition types.
We are so impressed with the creativity our members have infused into their films, and the way they’ve pushed themselves to try new things.
We’re so excited to present this showcase for you today…
The Educator’s Choice Awards have been chosen by the Lead Educator of the film project TRANSITIONS, Kylie Purtell, as those that fully embody the spirit of the FilmingLife® ArtHouse, and are noted for their storytelling, creativity and unique interpretation of the theme.
